VT Athletes

Hannah Teter, Andy Newell and Hannah Kearney are all Vermonters who will compete in Vancouver.

What’s most impressive about Vermont’s Olympians is that they will be competing is such a broad range of events from cross-country and alpine skiing to freestyle bump-bashing, snowboard halfpipe and snowboardcross.

Along with that, Vermont has legitimate medal contenders in nearly each of the above-mentioned sports. Hannah Teter (Belmont, Vt) will defend a gold medal in halfpipe, Andy Newell (Shaftsbury) is currently the sixth fastest cross-country sprinter in the world, Hannah Kearney (Norwich) is a clear favorite in moguls having won several World Cup competitions this season and the overall title in 2009, Lindsey Jacobellis (Stratton) won silver in snowboardcross in 2006 and is primed with X Games gold as she heads to Vancouver.

Not to mention Bode Miller. Hey, he’s not a Vermonter, but a close neighbor. When the fastest and most decorated male skier in U.S. history lives right next door, why not add him to the family? Miller will be a threat in all of the alpine events.

What is the best way to connect with these athletes, and yourself, regarding an interview for my WDeV Sun. night sports rant and talk show, “SCORE, the Sun. Night Special Edition”?

    Thank you,
